
AIA Europe International Conference upcoming in Milano
2015 is undoubtedly the year of Milan. Expo, which will last six months from May to November hosting millions of visitors, Italian and foreign. Among them will be the participants of the AIA Europe International Conference, which takes place every year in different cities in Europe.
From May 21- 24th, 2015, the participants of the AIA Europe Conference will explore Milan to learn about the new urban transformations which have affected the city in the most recent years.
The program includes a full calendar of meetings and visits to some of the most symbolic places of Milan in 2015. One of the four days will be fully dedicated to visiting Expo 2015 including a special reception at the USA Pavilion.
La Triennale di Milano, historically a crossroads of important architects and designers, will be the scene of several lectures presented by Italian and foreign architects including the 2015 AIA president Elizabeth Chu Richter, Luca Molinari, Nicholas Bewick aMDL), Luciano Lazzari, Agostino Ghirardelli (Studio Libeskind) and John Iorio. The conferences will be followed by guided tours to the developments of Porta Nuova and CityLife. The architects will learn about the two largest transformation of Milan skyline, visiting the Unicredit tower by Cesar Pelli, and the Isozaki’s nearly completed skyscraper.
Moreover, the group won't miss the opportunity of experiencing the charming and elegante atmosphere of Milan by night. The AIA architects will be guests at the Villa Necchi Campiglio, historical heritage FAI, for a gala dinner on Saturday night.
