Bosco Verticale

Bosco Verticale by Stefano Boeri Architetti

Bosco Verticale wins the 2014 International Highrise Award for its innovative addition of over 800 trees and 14 thousand plants to the Milan skyline. The high-rise ‘urban forest’ is composed of two residential towers with balconies projecting out over the façades adorned with greenery, part of a larger revitalization project in the Porta Nuova Isola area of north Milan.

The competition, run by the City of Frankfurt am Main with Deutsches Architekturmuseum and DekaBank since 2004, recognizes the “world’s best” recently constructed building standing over a minimum of 100 meters (328 feet).
